  • Electronic waste is also accepted from RRRASOC residents at all HHW events.
  • The mobile shredder is onsite at HHW events. Residents may bring up to 3 boxes or 100 pounds of paper for shredding.
Items NOT accepted include explosives, smoke detectors, commercial/business waste, radioactive waste and latex paint.

How Many Recyclables Can the RRRASOC Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) Process?

In August of this year, our single-stream materials recovery facility processed 8,890 tons of recyclables.

On average, about 15% of these recyclables come directly from RRRASOC's nine member communities. The remaining recyclables come from third party hauling contracts arranged directly by our recycling processor, ReCommunity Recycling.
Keep Propane Tanks & Pressurized Containers out of the Recycling Bin!

If tanks are not completely empty, they present a real danger in the waste stream because they can cause fires, explosions, serious injury or death if put into compactor trucks, recycling centers and other waste management equipment.

PLEASE DON'T PUT THEM IN THE TRASH OR THE RECYCLING BIN or CART

What should you do with your propane tank?
  • If the tank is still usable, have it refilled. Bring it to your local propane supplier to have it inspected and refilled.
  • If the tank is unsafe to use, or you no longer want it, many retailers have an "Exchange Program", so you can swap out your old, empty tanks for new, full ones, and they will recycle it properly.
