Flanders Street East Bound Closure Notice
East Bound Flanders Street is scheduled for closure due to planned concrete patch work. It is anticipated that concrete saw cutting will start later this week while both directions of traffic remains open. The East Bound closure will start the week of April 15th (weather permitting). During the closure, vehicles will only be permitted to travel west bound from Meadowlark to Farmington Road.
Road work will occur on one side of the road at a time. Once the concrete achieves strength, that portion of the roadway will re-open and the other side of the road will follow. Traffic will be down to one lane, and parking on Flanders will not be allowed. Parking will be allowed on all adjacent side streets.
Access to your home may be impacted as a roadway patch is replaced. The City and/or an OHM inspector will attempt to contact you 24 hours in advance of the work commencing if your driveway will be blocked.
Please keep children and pets away from the construction operation. Construction
Activities, and the associated equipment that goes with it, is attractive to small children and can be dangerous. Please keep children away from the equipment and wet concrete. The areas around newly placed concrete will be blocked off with barrels and caution tape. Please do not remove this protection; once the area can be driven on, the Contractor will remove the barrels and caution tape.
If you have any specific questions regarding the road construction, such as scheduling, parking or access to your home, please call Mr. Mitch Master, Construction Engineer for OHM at (734) 855-9876, Mr. Rick Hetu, Asst. Construction Engineer for OHM, at (734) 891-2453, or the Contractor, Ron O’Malley, Hartwell Cement Co. at (248) 548-5858.
General questions on this project or others in the area should be directed to the Engineer, at (734) 466-4584 from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm. Updated information will be handed out and attached to your front door as necessary.
