Downtown Farmington presents an Evening of Public Art with John Martin
Downtown Farmington is pleased to announce an evening with artist John Martin, winning muralist for the DDA’s first Call for Art. Recently installed in December 2018 on the north elevation of the CVS building on Downtown Farmington, the mural is a colorful pop of local culture. Join the artist and learn about the making of Farmington’s new mural and its historical significance. There will be a discussion at MI.Mosa, with light refreshments on Sunday, February 3, 2019 at 5:30PM.
Downtown Development Authority Executive Director Kate Knight said, “The mural has so much local reference in its iconography. Locals will appreciate the creative consideration John Martin layered into this piece of popular public art. It’s a fun alternative to Super Bowl Sunday festivities for art lovers. The event is designed to be a brief, entertaining Q & A with the artist. Attendees can grab a drink, ask questions and either be home in time for kick-off, or stay for dinner in Downtown Farmington.”
The event is produced by the Farmington Downtown Development Authority as a project inspired by the Public Art Blueprint. For more information, contact Kate Knight at 248-474-5500, ext 2214, or firstname.lastname@example.org. The information shared at the mural discussion will be made available in the future at downtownfarmington.org.
