33825 Grand River Building Demolition
Contractors for the City of Farmington will begin demolition of the former Christ Scientist First Church located at 33825 Grand River on Tuesday August 8, 2023.
Demolition activities are anticipated to take 10-14 days. The contractor and City have completed all State of Michigan requirements and permitting to conduct the demolition. The contractor will be required to provide dust control and keep the streets free of debris.
To minimize traffic impacts on Wilmarth Street, we request residents to avoid parking in the parking lot during the demolition and removal of debris. After the debris is removed from the site, the basement will be filled with compactable material. A landscaping contractor will then restore the site by placing topsoil, seed and straw to establish grass where the demolition activities took place.
Please keep children and pets away from all demolition and restoration operations.
Demolition and restoration activities, and the associated equipment that goes with it, is attractive to small children and can be dangerous. Please keep children away from the equipment, removals, mass grading, underground utility installation, hot/fresh asphalt, and wet concrete.
If you have any specific questions regarding the project, such as scheduling, parking, or access, please call the City Public Works Department at (248) 473-7250, or City Manager’s Office at 248/474-5500 ext 5121
The City and all other project team members are eagerly looking forward to the final completion of this project and the impact it will have on the Farmington community.
