Riley Park Benefit on October 12
Release date: 10/8/2013
Join the fun in Farmington on October 12th for a day filled with Family Fun with a winter theme! The event will raise both funds and awareness for Farmington’s upcoming rink.
Riley Park Activities from 9:30am – 12:30pm
- Activities planned are ice fishing for prizes, crafts, and a hockey shot. Don’t forget “frosty toss” in which rings are thrown over bowling pins decorated as snowmen. Thanks to Drakeshire Lanes for donating the pins!
- Real snow in October? Come out to throw a real snowball! Thanks to Suburban Ice Rink for providing the snow pile, we will have lots of snow to toss into the target.
- S.O.U.L. Will be onsite with cider and donuts – perhaps a morning breakfast for the family?
- And in keeping in the winter theme, snocones will be available!
Mad Scientist, Thermo Thad to perform at the Farmington Civic Theater at 1:00pm
Thermo Thad will present magic-like science based on the principles of air and pressure. Hot air balloons, vortex generators and even a hovercraft will help children understand the power of air. The show includes audience participation – Audience volunteers will help perform a "magic" trick where ropes are placed into a bag and magically become tied or help shoot toilet paper across the crowd with the help of air pressure. Kids just LOVE his show!
All Family Day proceeds go to the Riley Park Ice Rink. Complete all activities for $2. Food and beverages separate. Mad Scientist Show tickets are $7 ($5 of each ticket goes to the rink).
