Press Release

Electronic Waste Collection Event in Novi- Sat, November 14, 2015

Release date: 11/5/2015

Saturday, November 14th from 9:00am – 1:00pm
City of Novi Power Park located at 45175 W. Ten Mile Road.

The electronic waste collection events are sponsored by the Recycling Authority, in partnership with Vintage Tech Recyclers (www.vintagetechrecyclers.com) and are open to all Michigan residents, schools and businesses. There is no charge to recycle electronic waste at these events!

Why recycle electronics? When thrown out with household garbage, old electronics can contaminate air, soil and water because they contain hazardous substances such as mercury and lead. Through proper recycling, these hazardous substances are handled in an environmentally-responsible manner. E-waste also contains many valuable, recoverable materials such as aluminum, copper, gold, silver, plastics, and ferrous metals which can be recycled into new products instead of landfilled.

Acceptable items include most items with a plug such as desktop computers, laptops, computer related equipment, televisions, printers, fax machines, telephones, gaming systems, cameras, holiday light strings, microwave ovens, small appliances.

Items NOT accepted at e-waste events include: large household appliances, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, batteries, hazardous and liquid waste. Document shredding is NOT provided at electronic waste events.
Additional information can be found on the Recycling Authority’s website at rrrasoc.org or by calling 248-208-2270.
