Farmington High School students can register to vote Tuesday during their lunch
Release date: 4/22/2016
Representatives from the Farmington City Clerk’s office will be on hand Tuesday, April 26 at Farmington High School to register young voters; they will be available during all three lunches.
According to Deputy Clerk Mary Mullison, the city has been offering this service for several years.
“The reception has been great,” said Mullison. “We typically get between 30 and 40 students to register just during the lunch period. It's great to see so many young adults exercise their privilege by preparing to vote in future elections."
Those interested in registering to vote must have a state ID with them and are required to be 18 by the time of the election. Seventeen-year-old students can register, as long as they are 18 on Election Day, explained Mullison.
Students who live in either Farmington and Farmington Hills can register at this time.
